On the chilling night of December 2-3, 1984 humankind witnessed one of the worst industrial disasters of its times when the toxic Methyl Isocyanate (MIC) gas leaked from the Bhopal plant of Union Carbide. The gas silently spread engulfing the densely populated neighbourhood of the factory killing thousands in their sleep and deforming many more for life. The scars of the disaster are visible to this day in the region in the form of deformed children born generation after generation.
This incident is a cruel reminder of the fact that the marks humans leave are too often scars which persists for a very long time.
